Bühler-Areal – close to the centre, surrounded by green spaces

Around 89 new apartments are being built in the former spinning mill on the Bühler-Areal near Winterthur. The spacious floor plans, the charm of the historic buildings and the beautiful surroundings offer unique living spaces. At the same time, the area is perfectly linked to public transport and you are in the city in just a few minutes.

The site comprises four buildings:

1) Spinning Mill

2) Bale Warehouse

3) Factory

4) Power Station

A home that fulfils the most diverse wishes

From a studio to a penthouse apartment with its own roof terrace

Each apartment in the historic spinning mill has its own character. From studio and loft apartments to a spacious penthouse with its own roof terrace, every wish is fulfilled: you’ll find just the right home within our range of apartments from 1.5 to 4.5 rooms.

All apartments are bright, built according to high ecological standards (Minergie) and offer a view of the idyllic landscape.

Living directly on the Töss River

In a small, separate wing of the “spinning mill”, 7 three-storey maisonette apartments with the character of a townhouse are being built. All have direct access to the Töss. The future residents have 115 m2 of living space, a spacious balcony and their own garden.

In the midst of nature

You can expect untouched nature and an unobstructed view of Kyburg Castle directly at your front door. The factory pond invites you to linger and observe ducks and herons. With a bit of luck you may even see kingfishers. Cycling and hiking trails lead from the Bühler-Areal through the woods, the Töss Valley and over the hills – there are countless opportunities to relax and get away from everyday working life.

A welcoming meeting place in the mill’s courtyard

The inner courtyard will remain largely car-free and become a place to linger and play. The bistro in the former machine rooms of the historic power station will be a meeting place for coffee, lunch or a beer after work.

Varied shopping and cultural offerings

You will live in green surroundings and at the same time enjoy the varied cultural, shopping and leisure facilities of the nearby centres. The Bühler-Areal is perfectly linked to Winterthur, Zurich Airport and Zurich’s city centre. It takes just a few minutes to Winterthur by train – with a station only 400 metres away. Suburban trains run three times per hour to Zurich’s main train station, one of which is direct and offers a guaranteed seat. By car it is 30 minutes to Zurich or the airport. There are plenty of parking spaces for cars and bicycles on the Bühler-Areal.

Everything is close by for your daily needs

At the same time, Winterthur’s outer district Sennhof is within walking distance, offering everything you need for everyday life: It is only a few steps to the village shop and the local restaurant invites you to stop in for a bite to eat.

Rentals

Construction work started in March 2023. If everything goes according to plan, the apartments will be ready for occupancy by the end of 2026. Renting is expected to start in the previous year. We would be happy to keep you up to date via our newsletter: just send us an e-mail

Excellent location

Located on the outskirts of Winterthur, the Bühler-Areal is optimally linked to public transport. The “Sennhof-Kyburg” railway station is only 350 metres away. The city centre of Winterthur can be reached by suburban train in just a few minutes. Thanks to the direct connection to Zurich’s main train station, Zurich can also be reached in a good 30 minutes, without changing trains and with a guaranteed seat.

The A1 motorway is 8 kilometres away – via both the Oberwinterthur motorway junction towards St. Gallen and Schaffhausen, and the Töss/Kemptthal junction (via Kyburg) towards the airport and Zurich. It takes 30 minutes by car to get to the airport or Zurich’s city centre.
